Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Urban Journeys is operated by Skylark Creations LLC (“Skylark,” “we,” “us,” “our”).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

If you use features that may surface venues with age restrictions (for example, alcohol-serving venues), you are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including minimum-age requirements in your jurisdiction.

3. Accounts and authentication

You may use parts of the Service without an account (for example, limited anonymous journey composition). To save journeys and access account features, you must create an account.

Account creation and login may be available via:

• Email and password
• Google OAuth sign-in

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account

You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.

4. The Service and its limits

Urban Journeys generates themed walking routes and related narration based on information you provide (for example, starting address, themes, distance/time preferences, and optional free-text prompts) and third-party data sources.

Important realities:

• The Service may generate routes, stops, and text that are incomplete, inaccurate, not up to date, or unsuitable for your situation.
• Third-party data (including place listings, addresses, business hours, and other details) can be wrong or stale.
• Route and safety conditions can change quickly (construction, weather, closures, crime, private property, events).

You agree to use your judgment and verify critical details before relying on any output.

5. Safety disclaimer (walking routes)

Walking involves real-world risk.

You are solely responsible for:

• Your safety and the safety of others
• Choosing whether and how to follow any route or suggestions
• Complying with laws, signs, closures, and property rules
• Paying attention to surroundings (traffic, terrain, weather, lighting, personal safety)

The Service is not a navigation or emergency service. Do not use it as a substitute for professional advice, official guidance, or situational awareness.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Urban Journeys may offer free and paid plans (“Subscriptions”). Subscription features, limits, and prices may be displayed in the Service at the time of purchase.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.

Renewals and cancellation

Paid subscriptions may renew automatically unless you cancel. You can manage or cancel through Stripe's billing portal (as provided via the Service). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.

Refunds

Refunds are not guaranteed. Any refunds are granted at our discretion and may be handled manually.

Changes

We may change pricing, plan features, or limits. If we do, we will provide notice as required by law and/or within the Service.

7. User inputs, public sharing, and your responsibilities

Your inputs

You may provide inputs such as a starting address, themes, distance/time preferences, and optional free-text prompts (“User Inputs”).

You represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to provide your User Inputs
• Your User Inputs do not violate laws or infringe others' rights
• You will not include sensitive personal information you do not want shared

Public sharing

Journeys are private by default. If you choose to share a journey publicly, you understand that the shared journey page may display, at minimum:

• Journey title and description
• Stop names and addresses
• Coordinates and route geometry
• Themes, distance, duration
• Your free-text prompt (if you included one)

Public journeys may be indexed by search engines and viewed by anyone with access to the link. We cannot control how third parties copy, store, or redistribute content that you make public.

8. AI-generated content

The Service uses machine learning models to generate route narration and other text (“AI Output”).

You understand and agree:

• AI Output is generated automatically and may be incorrect, biased, or unsafe if followed blindly
• AI Output is for informational and entertainment purposes only
• You are responsible for how you use AI Output

9. Third-party services and content

The Service integrates or relies on third-party services (for example, mapping, places data, payments, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, and AI providers). These third parties may have their own terms, policies, and fees.

We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for:

• Their availability or accuracy
• Their acts or omissions
• Your relationship with them

Third-party places and map content remains owned by its respective providers. These Terms do not grant you ownership of third-party content.

10. License to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code (except to the extent the restriction is prohibited by law)
• Access the Service to build a competing product or to scrape or harvest data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including bypassing rate limits or security features

11. Your content license to us

You retain any rights you have in your User Inputs.

You grant Skylark a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes), create derivative works from (for example, AI transformations), and display your User Inputs solely to:

• Operate and provide the Service
• Generate routes and AI Output
• Display your journey to you
• Display your journey publicly if you enable sharing

12. Intellectual property

Skylark and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including software, design, branding, and non-user content, except as otherwise stated.

All trademarks, logos, and service marks are the property of their respective owners.

13. Termination and suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if:

• You violate these Terms
• Your use poses a security risk or legal risk
• We are required to do so by law

You may stop using the Service at any time.

14. Disclaimers

15. Limitation of liability

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In that case, these limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skylark and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your User Inputs
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity

17. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, excluding its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by updating the Effective Date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the Service or by email.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
